The opportunities available for research are as plentiful as the problems or challenges that surround each of us on a daily basis. This case study details a research project that evolved from candid conversations between strangers and resulted in a program focused on reducing food insecurity in a rural Northwestern Ohio community. Food insecurity continues to be a significant problem in many places within the United States. This project utilised a participatory action research approach and attempted to capitalise on the expertise of multiple community partners in order to develop programming with, instead of for, those struggling with food insecurity.
