Online resources: The purpose of this case study is to demonstrate the use of perceptual mapping as a means to examine the perceptions of K-12 teachers and others regarding disabilities and school-based mental health services. Perceptual mapping captures the relationships between key features of a group's thinking structure regarding a given topic or issue and yields a graphic representation of the perceptions. The method captures group perceptions that originate within the group as opposed to being constrained by a traditional survey and is particularly appropriate for those situations in which theory is underdeveloped or research precedent is lacking.
