Windhorse Farm, a business built on sustainable forestry, is at a pivotal point in its history. The current owners are ready to retire and have decided to convert their business to a not-for-profit organization and sell some of their assets to it. In its new form, the farm is referred to as the Windhorse Education Foundation, and is a social enterprise aimed at promoting awareness of and education about sustainable forestry. The revenue-generating activities of the farm - the Eco-Woodshop and hosting space - are now owned by the Foundation with the intent of supporting its educational activities. Will Martin has been assigned the role of Executive Director of the Foundation and is struggling with the realities of working with a board of governors and attracting investment.
