This reprint focuses on research on arterial and venous thromboembolic complications. The authors provide up-to-date information about the pathogenesis, risk stratification, diagnostics and treatment of various forms of thromboembolism including venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, cerebral sinus thrombosis, splanchnic thrombosis, ischemic stroke, acute coronary syndrome and pregnancy loss. Additionally, they included the advances of such management in specific populations, such as the patients with endocrine disorders, cancer or COVID-19.
