On the one hand, indigenous peoples are increasingly present on the international stage. On the other hand, their actions do not necessarily translate into recognition in the day-to-day workings of international politics. Even in the theoretical field, the recognition of these peoples has only recently been incorporated into the discipline, whose very notion of politics and its practice has traditionally been centered on the nation-state and international organizations. This book seeks to challenge these conservative understandings. The chapters that constitute it are guided by the premise that indigenous peoples are political actors par excellence, and their actions offer possibilities for the construction of an Other world. Thus, the reflections outlined in this book point to a questioning of the political subject and the constitutive fractures of the international, exposing the limits and possibilities for change in the discipline.Sammanfattning: Pensar a política indígena consiste em tema não apenas importante como necessário às Relações Internacionais. Por um lado, os povos indígenas mostram-se cada vez mais presentes na cena internacional. Por outro lado, sua atuação não necessariamente se traduz em reconhecimento no dia-a-dia da política internacional. Mesmo no campo teórico, o reconhecimento destes povos tem sido apenas recentemente incorporado à disciplina, cuja própria noção de política e de seu exercício esteve centrada tradicionalmente no Estado-nação e nas organizações internacionais. Este livro busca interpelar estes entendimentos conservadores. Os capítulos que o constituem possuem como fio condutor a premissa de que os povos indígenas consistem em atores políticos por excelência, sua atuação imprime possibilidades da construção de um mundo Outro. Desse modo, as reflexões delineadas neste livro apontam para um questionamento sobre o sujeito político e para as fraturas constitutivas do internacional, expondo os limites e as possibilidades de mudanças na disciplina.
