The Chair of Innovation for Smart Specialization of the University of Murcia, financed by the Institute of Development (INFO) of the Region of Murcia, presents in this report the results of the first barometer of innovation prepared by the Observatory of Innovation of the Innovation of the Innovation of the Innovation of the Innovation of the Innovation of the Innovation of the Innovation of the Innovation of the InnovationMurcia region. The objective of the Observatory is to monitor business actions and public policies regarding innovation, to provide the Murcia region of updated information on the Regional Innovation System.To do this, it is proposed to prepare an annual report with data on R&D effort and the innovative activity of Murcia companies. The data collection for the elaboration of this first barometer was carried out between February and April 2020 and refers to the innovative activity of the companies during the 2017-2019 period.The methodology of this study is similar to that used by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) in the Business Innovation Survey, adapted to business size and the sector composition of the Region of Murcia. We trust that the information obtained in this barometer can be used to better know how business innovation in our region is and to promote collaboration between the different agents of the Regional Innovation System, promoting actions that support our companies in their innovation and innovation processesdevelopment.
