Ämnen: Onlineresurser: Sammanfattning: Art-Created Communities invites a conversation about what communities in and around art are and can be. What forms of togetherness and belonging characterize different art and cultural publics, and what kinds of publics help form new art-created communities? What happens when art creates friction by challenging established perceptions of reality? What concepts and theories are used to understand what community can mean in an artistic context? Through 12 articles, the book explores such questions in a Nordic context. However, it is not limited to professional artistic practice and the art field's own arenas; it also turns its gaze toward aesthetic practices that unfold within culture in a broader sense. The book is divided into three thematic parts: community as ambition, community as practice, and community under negotiation. Art-Created Communities stems from the research program "Art and Social Communities," a collaboration between the Danish Arts Foundation and the Norwegian Arts Council. The book presents contributions from projects that received funding in the program's first phase, in addition to commissioned articles.
