The content of this book is divided into three parts that show essential perspectives on European common fishing policy, as well as real experiences. The first section of the book deals with the background of common fishing policy, and describes the fundamental characteristics of the structure and operation of the fishing industry in Europe. The second section shows important experiences in countries that have already introduced elements of privatization and transferable fishing concessions.The third part of the book shows experiences with the common European policy in countries in southern Europe, which illustrates the enormous diversity in terms of political problems, social organizations, and environmental issues throughout the myriad of fishing that are integrated into the watersEuropean community fishing.
