Smith (1912-1975) dedicated to the King John V Library of Coimbra, in terms of its history, architecture and art. It establishes a chronology of the library's works from its beginnings until the restoration work carried out by the former DGEM between 1943-45, reveals the artists who worked on it and looks for the authorship of the project. Apresenta-se em edição crítica bilíngue da obra original, datável de 1974, no âmbito da atualização dos seus conteúdos.
