"For me, all this started out as a small map and has ended up being just that, an Atlas of spaces and places. It's curious because I find it extremely important to know where I am. For example, when I'm in Murcia I love visiting its places and knowing where I am, rural places. The importance of a map or an Atlas is that you situate yourself, you don't wander through seemingly unconnected spaces but you recognise that there is a distance between point and point: there is a distance between your house and a park or between your house and a valley or between that park and that valley. That measurement is also a journey that you have to make. Placing yourself spatially in a place is very important. If, in addition, in that space there are stories, family or otherwise, it is easier to form a map in your head, in your memory. Maps are very important in the project because they situate you and connect you. My grandfather's workshop is a certain distance from his house and mine, to get there I have to take a path and maybe, although I haven't realised before, there I can find something that interests me a lot."
