This article analyzes the impact of digital transformation on rural development in Latin America, focusing on technological inclusion and the challenges faced by rural communities. The research highlights how the adoption of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can improve quality of life and reduce the digital divide, especially with regard to gender inequality. Despite advances in digitalization, important barriers persist, such as the lack of quality connectivity and the limited digital skills of the rural population. The efforts of institutions to close these gaps are evaluated through inclusive policies that promote equitable access to ICT, encouraging greater participation and economic development in these areas. This study justifies its relevance by addressing these obstacles, proposing solutions that can facilitate the equitable development of rural communities through digital transformation. To this end, a bibliographic analysis was carried out that allows evaluating both the digital gaps and the strategies that are being implemented in Latin America. As a result, it is concluded that, although digitalization offers great opportunities, it is crucial to adopt comprehensive policies that address these barriers and promote technological inclusion to improve living conditions in rural areas

Este artículo analiza el impacto de la transformación digital en el desarrollo rural de América Latina, centrándose en la inclusión tecnológica y los desafíos que enfrentan las comunidades rurales. La investigación pone de relieve cómo la adopción de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) puede mejorar la calidad de vida y reducir la brecha digital, especialmente en lo referente a la desigualdad de género. A pesar de los avances en digitalización, persisten importantes barreras como la falta de conectividad de calidad y las limitadas competencias digitales de la población rural. Se evalúan los esfuerzos de las instituciones para cerrar estas brechas mediante políticas inclusivas que promuevan el acceso equitativo a las TIC, fomentando una mayor participación y desarrollo económico en estas áreas. Este estudio justifica su relevancia al abordar estos obstáculos, proponiendo soluciones que pueden facilitar el desarrollo equitativo de las comunidades rurales a través de la transformación digital. Para ello, se realizó un análisis bibliográfico que permite evaluar tanto las brechas digitales como las estrategias que están siendo implementadas en América Latina.
