Gallstone Disease - Newer Insights and Current Trends is a collection of five chapters. Chapters 1–3 discuss the clinical symptomatology of gallstone disease, landmarks for safe cholecystectomy, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy techniques for better cosmesis effects. Chapter 4 focuses on symptomatic gallstone disease in a specific subpopulation associated with sickle cell disease. Chapter 5 highlights insights into descriptive and surgical epidemiology, management of biliary diseases, and terminology for some surgical procedures. All the chapters in this volume are derived from systematic reviews and global, national, and local studies of benign gallbladder and bile duct diseases. This book balances specific clinical details with evidence-based generalizations, highlighting the need to develop precision-based biliary medicine and surgery.
