Ämnen: Onlineresurser: Sammanfattning: In Het vermaaklyk slot, the seventh volume published by the Stichting Kastelenstudies Nederland, a number of Dutch castles are brought to life from strikingly diverse perspectives. Archaeological and architectural data, landscape analysis, and historical research complement one another in contributions on, among others, the Genneperhuis, Huis ten Hove, Borgharen, Nederhorst den Berg, and the castles of Floris V. Castle drawings also receive special attention, both in a study of the works of Abraham de Haen the Younger and in the discussion of the unique depiction of Castle De Burgh. In addition, the authors highlight how castles functioned within their surroundings, presenting case studies from North Holland, Limburg, and Zeeland. The richly illustrated articles are the result of recent research. As such, the volume offers an inspiring introduction to the diversity of contemporary Dutch castle studies.
