The diversity of approaches to the issue of crisis moments, both as a concept requiring normative and non-normative conceptualisations and as a social phenomenon experienced in different contexts, shows the richness of the pedagogical discussions set out by the authors of the texts collected in this volume. The attitude of all these authors can be described as 'keeping a finger on the pulse' of events whose importance can hardly be overestimated from the point of view of individuals and communities preserving those values that make us internally better and the world around us safer and friendlier. Educators and pedagogues cannot be indifferent to the various aspects of crisis moments, as they have important consequences for education as part of culture. They explore academically the changes that are taking place and speak on issues that are relevant to the concern for human beings, for their all-round development and for preserving their dignity. The texts collected in this volume consider issues of transition and change, and formulate appeals for the protection of every human being, especially children and young people.

Różnorodność podejść do zagadnienia przesilenia, zarówno jako pojęcia wymagającego normatywnych i nienormatywnych konceptualizacji, jak i doświadczanego w różnych kontekstach zjawiska społecznego, pokazuje bogactwo pedagogicznej refleksji rozwijanej w niniejszym tomie tekstów. Postawę wszystkich autorów można określić mianem „trzymania ręki na pulsie" wydarzeń, których waga jest trudna do przecenienia z punktu widzenia zachowania przez jednostki i wspólnoty tych wartości, które czynią nas wewnętrznie lepszymi, a świat wokół nas bezpieczniejszym i bardziej przyjaznym. Pedagodzy i pedagożki nie mogą być obojętni wobec różnych aspektów przesilenia, gdyż niesie ono istotne konsekwencje dla edukacji jako części kultury. Badają na gruncie nauki zmiany, które zachodzą, a także zabierają głos w kwestiach istotnych z punktu widzenia troski o człowieka, o jego wszechstronny rozwój oraz o zachowanie jego godności. Teksty zebrane w tomie uwzględniają zagadnienia przesilenia i zmiany, a także formułują apele o ochronę każdego człowieka, zwłaszcza dzieci i młodzieży.
