Subject(s): Online resources: Summary: This book is certainly a living example of the scientific quality of the women honoured, although only a small but important part of that quality is shown here. However, with this selection that brings together some fruits of a long and intense scientific career, we wanted to pay a well-deserved tribute to their retirement. This tribute is made to them with the best words, their own, in which they recognise themselves, of course, and from which their readers will be able to learn more about them and learn and enjoy their knowledge. In this selection, which begins with the article dedicated to Seneca's Oedipus from 1974 and which closes with the myths of Ovid's Metamorphoses in Pontanus' commentary from 2017, we have tried to offer a kind of panorama of the interests of Professors Álvarez and Iglesias. Although all of them can be placed under two emblematic words: Ovid and Mythology, some extend their arms towards fields closely related to them, such as Classical Tradition and Mythography, the most philological face of Mythology.
