Legislation regularly draws on economic knowledge. The assumptions on which this knowledge is based are thus transferred to the law and transformed in the process. Following the Law and Political Economy approach, Emma Sammet provides fundamental methodological considerations for the reconstruction of these legislative assumptions. In a second step, the limits and potential of the methodology are tested by applying it to various instruments of housing legislation. It is shown which economic knowledge structures are reflected in the laws and how, thus remeasuring the policy field The work offers new perspectives for an economically informed critique of law and for legislative self-reflexion. The book will also be available in open access upon publication.
