The central objective of this book is to problematize the foundations of materialism in the philosophical field. For this reason, the first two chapters are dedicated to the two only philosophical concepts that are justified in substantial terms: God and consciousness. God will not be conceived under personalistic and transcendent terms, as is done by traditional religions, but rather as a universal, eternal, transcendent, and immanent principle to all existing beings and things. Consciousness will be thought of metaphysically as spirit, or as an ontological and substantial unit that is the foundation of itself as subjective interiority, being also the origin of material objects themselves.

O objetivo central deste livro consiste em problematizar os fundamentos do materialismo no campo filosófico. Por esse motivo, os dois primeiros capítulos são dedicados aos dois únicos conceitos filosóficos que se justificam em termos substanciais: Deus e consciência. Deus não será pensado sob termos personalistas e transcendentes, como fazem as religiões tradicionais, mas como princípio universal, eterno, transcendente e imanente a todos os seres e coisas existentes. A consciência será pensada metafisicamente como espírito, ou unidade ontológica e substancial que é o fundamento de si mesma como interioridade subjetiva, sendo também a origem dos próprios objetos materiais.
