Photovoltaics is essential for the conversion of energy production towards renewable energies. One solution for simple processing in thin-film technology is provided by solar cells made from organic metal halide perovskite methylammonium lead iodide. Since stability and environmental issues with this material system have not yet been solved this work deals with stable, lead-free metal oxides for thin film solar cells.
