The unfathomable abyss that perpetrates in the human spirit the immanent reality of the deleterous, the fear of nothingness, the existential certainty of the disease and death is the Gordian knot of which the remedies underlie the remedies to give balm to the vital anguish of uncertainty. It is the heuristic framework where all the hieropanies of the sacred have a place, where magic, religion and empiria conjure themselves against pain and sufferings, forming a salvific tried against evil. The healing performances that combine the scholasticisms of official therapeutics with the remedies of the people linked to oral tradition, folklore and earth arise here, that totum revolutum of Praxis orthodox and heterodox, hegemonic and subaltern, central and peripheral against thereal or imagined disease. Habitus in which the forms of popular resistance to biomedical empiricism, the traditional medicine spells used by the people to obtain more health, to fill the experience that chaos causes in mind, body and spirit. We are facing "folk medicine," first of all "spells, charms, habits and traditional customs related to the conservation of health and the healing of diseases" that the social collective mobilizes to restore the lost balance. Popular medicine that still persists in places linked to the crazy-rural tradition such as the municipality of Cehegín, whose description and symbolic exegenesis are the purpose of this text.
