This special issue is the first comprehensive academic review of the German National Security Strategy. With the aim of providing concrete policy recommendations; the contributing political scientists and legal scholars discuss the functions; policy areas and institutionalisation of the security strategy. The special issue thus becomes a starting point for future research debates on the National Security Strategy.
